If you want your finished project to stand out then a great way to do this is by adding some hand embroidery to your designs - you can use stitches to outline an image, highlight a certain section or to just bring some texture to the piece. All you need to do is print your chosen design onto a piece of paper then use it to trace onto the fabric with tailor's chalk. Perfect for keeping your embroidery on the right track.

To make things as easy as possible for yourself you’ll want to get an embroidery hoop, this helps to hold the fabric tight and stabilize it for the sewing. Once you’ve got the section you're working on in the embroidery hoop you make a knot in the end of your embroidery floss and start stitching from the back of the fabric to the front. You can use so many different stitches (have a look at YouTube or Pinterest for some inspiration), but even a basic straight stitch will look amazing with a Vintage twist added to it.
