Winter may be cold, grey and rainy, but it’s also the season of snow, festivities and getting cozy indoors, with fuzzy sweaters, hot chocolate and relaxing by the fire and/or radiator. Embrace the frosty goodness with our comforting winter illustrations.
With limited daylight hours and inclement weather, winter is probably the best time of year to flex your crafting muscles. It’s too chilly and miserable for outdoor activities, so as long as you’re going to be hibernating indoors, dust off your crafting machines and sketch books, stock up on plenty of printer ink, fabrics and original Design Bundles downloads.
When the temperature starts to fall, it’s time for your creativity to rise. Fill your design grotto with a ton of free winter illustrations and don’t be flakey - craft until the snow melts!
This is the perfect time to customize warm garments - so get yourself a bunch of plain sweaters, hoodies, hats and gloves and pick out a bunch of fun wintery graphics to customize them for yourself, your friends or customers. There’s a variety of ways you can use our downloads to decorate a garment. You can do a simple heat transfer, for which all you’ll need is a regular printer, transfer paper and an iron. You could also use your chosen illustration as a template and embroider the design, which you could embellish with beading or sequins to add a little zhuzh to the image.
You’ll need more specialized tools and materials, but you could also try your hand at sublimation. It is now possible to apply this technique to organic fabrics, but it tends to be easier to work with synthetics. Sublimation gives a very neat, high quality finish, so your final garment will look just like a professionally made piece, and will be much more durable.
With our versatile, easy to use downloads, you can’t go wrong with a Design Bundles winter illustrations file. We have lots of different file formats available, so you can pick one that works best with your preferred editing software, be it Adobe Photoshop or Cricut Design Space. Just remember to flip your image prior to printing so your transfer comes out the right way around when you apply it to your garment.
